Erica received her bachelor’s degree in science at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. After graduating she served two and a half years in the Peace Corps living in West Africa, Republic of Benin. She was a health extension volunteer and her primary objective was working with the handicapped of her assigned village and this experience prompted her to pursue a physical therapy degree upon returning to the United States. She is a graduate of the University of St. Augustine doctorate of physical therapy program and master of occupational therapy program. She is a licensed physical therapist and occupational therapist. She also teaches physical and occupational therapy classes in a graduate program. She takes students on annual international service trips to countries like Peru, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Morocco. Her plans are to further her knowledge in the public health realm to better serve the community where she currently lives and works.
