Forensic Vocational Rehabilitation

Designed for working professionals that currently have a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or working professionals that are already certified rehabilitation counselors. This program is offered online, so students will not have to sacrifice their work and family life in order to further their education and enrich their careers.

This is a non-credit professional certificate. Registration is open year-round and students may complete the self-paced program at any time. The program is comprised of 3 required courses.

Geriatric Care Management

Job opportunities in geriatrics and long term care are expected to grow by more than 35% – ranking among the most rapidly growing employment areas, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The home and community based care sector has grown to approximately four hundred million dollars per year and the provision of services in long term care is estimated to be as much as two billion dollars per year. This program is approved by the International Commission on Health Care Certification as a Certified Geriatric Care Manager (CGCM) training program.

This is a for-credit Graduate Certificate. Applications are accepted on a semester basis for spring, summer, and fall semesters. The 12-credit program is comprised of 4 required courses. An optional 1-credit practicum experience is available. The program can be completed in one calendar year.

Medicare Set-Aside

This program equips participants with all the knowledge and practical skills required to acquire certification in the Medicare Set-Aside Allocation (MSA) field. The University of Florida’s certificate program is a dynamic, interactive learning experience. Upon completion of this program, participants will be eligible to sit for the national (MSCC) certification exam offered by the International Commission on Health Care Certification and receive the designation of Medicare Set-Aside Certified Consultant.

This is a non-credit professional certificate. Registration is open year-round and students may complete the self-paced 30-hour program at any time.

Trauma and Resiliency

This program will provide students with the opportunity to learn and apply concepts related to trauma and resiliency. Trauma-informed care, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and resilience-building approaches will be addressed throughout the program.

This is a for-credit Graduate Certificate. Applications are accepted on a semester basis for spring, summer, and fall semesters. The 9-credit program is comprised of 3 required courses. The program can be completed in one calendar year.
